THE IDEA

‘Some stories, we inherit. Some, we tell. Others, we preserve.’

For three days, News From Egypt revealed the many threads that have long shaped the Azza Fahmy universe, where Egypt’s rich heritage continues to inspire their perspective, their craft and everything they create.

THE PROCESS

The exhibition took visitors into the symbols and knowledge of Ancient Egypt, shaped through decades of research and study; explored the words, poems and songs through which culture is carried forward; and brought visitors closer to the generations of skilled hands that keep knowledge and craftsmanship alive.

THE RESULT

Ominto Studio worked closely with the team to design, fabricate and install from a bespoke window display, a curated selection of archive graphics, to listening stations and craftsman display areas while being surrounded by Azza Fahmy jewellery projects, while each visitors had the opportunity to curate their own book of archive.
